Welcome to Free to Live No-Kill Animal Sanctuary

Free To Live is a non-profit sanctuary for stray, abandoned and mistreated dogs and cats. It is the largest no-kill sanctuary in Oklahoma. From Free To Live more than 200 animals are adopted out to loving homes each year. At the sanctuary, animals that are not adopted live out their lives with healthy food, shelter and medical care. Euthanasia is not practiced.

New Executive Director Joins Free to Live Team

Reagan HamlinWe are excited to announce the newest addition to your Free to Live team. Reagan Hamlin started Aug. 2 as the new executive director. She has more than 10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and communications with her most recent position as assistant vice president for development at the University of Central Oklahoma.

 Gideon // Gentle Warrior

It was a normal morning at the sanctuary, when a white truck rolled into the parking lot. A young woman emerged from the vehicle crying and proclaiming that she didn't know what to do. She had been driving a rural road when she came across this sweet, but horribly emaciated dog. It has lost one leg previously and its eyes are incredibly infected. The woman had called three other places and all said they would put him down immediately upon arrival. We are at capacity (after having 10 other dogs dumped over the past couple weeks, and one is pregnant) but our crew jumped into overdrive and creatively made space for this sweet guy. We will post much more detail in the coming days, (once we have the vet report etc) but we wanted to introduce you and give you the opportunity to follow along www.facebook.com/freetoliveok and to Give towards his care...even a little can be a huge help.  Gideon is a fighter and together we will walk with him through this valley. Thanks so much for your help!

In Store Cat Adoption at Petsmart

With so many amazing felines, we began a partnership with the Edmond Ok Petsmart (1921 S Broadway, Edmond Ok 73013) to have cats in their in store adoption space, 7 days a week. We have staff and volunteers that visit the cats during the week, (as well as the dedicated in-store crew from Petsmart and the Banfield Animal Hospital) and they are rotated each week.
We take great pride that our cats at the sanctuary have indoor/outdoor access and they can roam freely in their spaces, so it was very important to us to make sure they were comfortable in the store setting. Although the space is smaller, they are well taken care of and we are extremely happy with the numerous cats who have found their forever homes through this partnership. Take a minute to go visit and say hello to these sweet kitties.
Adoption Fee: $80 and includes all vetting and a microchip

Join us on our Dog and Cat Fun Days held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, from 1 to 3 pm.

Come out and have some fun with our animals, they love the attention!

Sponsor Special Needs

Sponsor a Special Needs Dog or Cat - We have several animals that, due to health or behavior problems, will probably not be adopted. Since we are a true no-kill facility, these animals will live out their natural lives with us and be treated as one of our family here at Free To Live. Please look over these wonderful dogs and cats and consider sponsoring a special needs pet. Click here to learn more.
