Meet Dodie! (Estimated birthday 2019). This sweet girl was found scared and alone after being abandoned near a local car
dealership and seeking refuge hiding nearby in a drainage ditch. She was so scared and
untrusting that we had to use a trap to catch her, but we quickly realized this girl was sweet as
can be. Unfortunately, upon her arrival at the Sanctuary, Dodie tested positive for heartworms.
After going through her treatment, she is now a healthy girl who is ready to forget all the past
traumas of her past life and settle in to the forever home she so deserves! Dodie walks well on a
leash, loves to play, and is all around just the sweetest girl with every human she meets! She has
a bit of separation anxiety and some major storm fears, but would thrive with a structured routine
or a family who homeschools or works from home—she promises to be the best assistant! Dodie
has not been a fan of other dogs in our experience, but we would still be happy to introduce her
to any canine companions in the home who think she could be a fit; we would be happy to cat
test her as well! Dodie is truly such a sweet girl, and after all of the hardships she’s endured in
her short life so far, we would love to see her find a forever home of her very own! Interested in
