Adopt Taco

Meet Taco (estimated birthdate November 2017)! We first spotted Taco when he timidly came up through the front gates of our property. He was starving, scared of us and he ran away – normal behavior for a guy out on his own for awhile. After some time, we were able to get him in a trap and started the routine to get him well. Bloodwork, wormers and food and more food. We had to feed him small meals throughout the day and into the evening. We wish we could say we had never done this routine before, but sadly we knew this process well. We couldn’t imagine how long he was out on his own, but watching his little body struggle to gain weight and heal from his skin biopsies and neuter was so hard. But we are thankful to say that his body is responding to good nutrition and his skin is showing so much improvement with a good diet and medication routine. This Taco we know and love is now a happy, beefy boy! He will be on lifelong medication to help alleviate his skin issues, but he is worth every penny!

Taco is good with most adults and older kids. He has not been exposed to cats but we would be happy to cat test him if needed. We ask that resident dogs meet him before adoption. To meet Taco, please fill out an application at freetoliveok.org/adopt
