Adopt Huckleberry

Three-year-old Huckleberry is a big boy with a bigger heart. He was found rurally and was in danger of being shot in the area. He needed a safe place to land quickly. He couldn’t use his back leg and needed to have femoral head surgery to make sure he could live a life free of pain. He is strong now and ready for a chance to be someone’s best buddy. He would be great riding shotgun and stays ready to be a wingman. He wants to be someone’s first choice and the reason they get excited to come home at night. Huck is around 70 pounds.

Found Story:
Huckleberry or Huck was found with his sibling dumped in the Shawnee area. The homeowner was threatening to shoot him if someone didn’t get him quickly. He was presenting injured and we knew he didn’t have much time. We were relieved to learn it was just a femoral head issue and though he may have intermittent limping throughout his lifetime – he would no longer be in pain. He is strong on a leash and we continue to work with him. He is a great dog looking for an even greater home.
